This Friday the wife and I are going to see the new Will Ferrell movie, STEP BROTHERS. If you haven't seen the previews, it is directed by Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights) and stars Ferrell and John C. Reily (aka Cal Naughton Jr.). The two are in their forties, still living with their parents, and then one day their parents get married, hence the title STEP BROTHERS. It looks hillarious.
This got me thinking, what are your top 5 Will Ferrell movies? Here are mine:
1) Anchorman - The undisputed champ, gets funnier everytime I watch it. Ron Burgundy has a ton of one liners, and this is classic Will Ferrell.
2) Old School - The wedding reception, and the wedding singer in particular, still crack me up, and who can forget Frank the Tank?
3) Talledaga Nights - Ricky Bobby is funny, but Cal almost steals the show. I absolutely loved this movie BOTH TIMES that I went to the theatre to see it.
4) Kicking and Screaming - I know, I know, I know... it's a kids movie. This is really funny though, and my daughter Kara loves it.
5) Elf - Buddy the elf was really funny, and the first time I saw this it was with a big, big group that went to the movies, so the one liners lasted years and years because of the group dynamics.
Just missing the cut: Blades of Glory (a bit corny, but really funny, too much Napolean Dynamite), and I haven't seen Semi Pro yet!
Sound off on your favorite Will Ferrell movies, one liners, and SNL characters.... now back to your regularly scheduled Cardinals blown save.
